Your First Visit
Your first dental visit is very important to us. We like to take our time in getting to know you, gather as much information about your medical and dental history and make you feel comfortable and relaxed around us. Our goal is to build relationships with our patients based on trust, understanding and respect.
At Dunsmuir Dental, you will never feel rushed. We are committed to listening to all your concerns and answering all your questions. During your first dental visit, we are going to perform the following to collect the necessary information about your oral health.
Medical History & Dental History
The first step to visiting our office is to provide us with a brief medical and dental history. You can either download your forms here to fill out electronically or come in 15 minutes before your first appointment to fill them out in the office.
By obtaining this information, we can ensure that you receive individualized service upon each visit to our office and it will help us to safely work around any personal conditions or medication allergies. Using his expert knowledge, Dr. Tony Bae will assess your gums, teeth, and bite. It is our aim to give you a well-rounded evaluation and identify any key issues.
Dental X-Rays
If you have not been to a dentists’ office recently, we may recommend that x-rays be taken. This allows us to closely examine your dental structures and look for any problems with tooth decay or any other issues
A Comprehensive Dental Examination
During the exam process, we take photos using our digital SLR camera and use an intra-oral camera to show you the health of your mouth. After Dr. Bae has acquired all the images and information, he will sit down with you and discuss his findings, recommendations and have all your questions clearly answered.
Treatment Plan
Finally you will piece together a custom treatment plan with your dentist. Nothing will be agreed until you say so and we will educate you on how to prevent dental issues, saving you time and money. If no issues are found, your dental appointment is complete and we can schedule your dental cleaning appointment.
A Professional Dental Cleaning
You can also have your dental cleaning done at the same time as your New Patient Exam. Having your teeth regularly cleaned can help protect against plaque build-up, cavities, and other harmful dental problems. During any regular exams at Dunsmuir Dental, we will clean your teeth gently by removing any plaque and tartar.
